Pom Poms, Jute & Lights | A Christmas Craft

4

December 16, 2015 by Terry

A couple weeks ago while I was resting (trying to..) from the Neurotomy I had done on my back, I decided to do a little craft.  I wanted to make a wreath out of pom poms and jute.

While resting on the couch and watching T.V. I managed to make some pom poms out of chunky yarn.  Believe it or not pom poms are tricky and time consuming to make!  I did not expect it to take as long as it did to be honest.

I tied them to a wire wreath form and filled in the empty spaces with jute cut into strips.  The jute was easy but also monotonous …

This is what it looks like during….the nice thing about this craft is that there is no gluing or sewing, just tying and cutting!

After adding a few larger pom poms hanging down in the center, I decided to jazz it up a bit with some battery powered LED lights.

…and TADA! …

So pretty both in the day and evening!  I sold it at the Market a few days later to a very nice lady :0)

So easy to do and it creates some texture and warmth for the holidays!

Don’t forget tomorrow is Making Broken Beautiful!  Get your favorite past or present projects ready to inspire others with!  Feel free to link up Christmas crafts too!

See you there!

  1. Terry this wreath is so pretty! I love the different textures you’ve added and you are so right…pom poms take forever even though they look really easy. I hope you’re on the mend soon! hugs, CoCo

Thank you CoCo! I am feeling much better this week. It probably took me longer to make the pom poms than it should, I hadn’t made them before;) I hope you have a merry Christmas!
