Another Primitive table …
12June 6, 2016 by Terry
I have to say, I think I’m seeing a pattern for pieces I’m drawn to. I’m talking about primitive pieces or primitive style pieces. I love the imperfect charm of them and there’s just something beautiful in the dry, worn wood that grabs my heartstrings immediately!
So when I saw this sweet tattered piece listed for sale (and for an amazing price) I just had to have it. I had no need for it and I have no space right now for it but I still had to have it!
I love how you can make it as rustic and casual as you want or it can also be dressed up and given a shabby elegance look.
Here is an example of what I’m calling Shabby Elegant.
My husband brought this home for me as an anniversary gift one year and I have used it for so many different purposes over the years. Here it is being used as a breakfast table.
Here I used it as a desk for a while… ( seller’s remorse over the industrial art work in this photo! Sigh… )
At one time I used it more as an ornamental display piece in our living room.
There was even a time when I took this table to use for a display table in my antique booth back when I had one.
It has also served as a pretty prop for staging some of my other pieces…
This is the new one I picked up. It is temporarily in our family room under the T.V. until I can rearrange things and incorporate it as being a useful piece in the room. I so desperately want to justify to myself buying it …. can anyone else relate? ha, ha.
I love the tongue and groove top and the paint patina on the legs! Maybe it will become my new desk.
Wherever it ends up I’m sure it will look beautiful and I’m so happy it’s mine!
Have a great day!

Thank you Catherine! My husband is really getting it now as far as my tastes in furniture go! He is always keeping his eyes open for special pieces when he goes away to work. This little table is going to be used in a bridal photoshoot next week and I’m so excited to be a part of it! I hope you have a great day!

They’re both beautiful! They have so much character and “honest” wear. It always makes me think about what kind of life they’ve had.

It’s going to be a bit of a re arrange here for sure in the next couple of weeks! I have made a space to house all my completed projects that are waiting to be sold so I can free up space in my home for my own things ;) I didn’t realize how many pieces I had sprinkled all over the house … I’m sure you have the same problem ;) I hope you have a great day Marie!
