When things pile up!
2April 3, 2014 by Terry
I am always amazed at how fast everyday things in life can pile up! I haven’t been able to “get it together” lately and I’m not sure why. Usually I am an extremely organized person…. in recent weeks, not so much! I have been working pretty steady at the clinic so that doesn’t help with production around here. Not to mention that my oldest twin came down with a stomach bug and has been ill with it since last Sunday evening. Today is finally an “up” day for him. I feel like things got busy around here fast!
Well today I buckled down and decided it was time for a good cleaning and straightening….Laundry can wait till tomorrow!
Yah…I’m behind on that too…one of my dryers broke :0(!…
For those of you who know me and think I keep a perfect house, here’s an eye opener for you!
There are 4 baskets missing from this picture….plus bedding! Ahhhhhh!
Then there’s all the hundreds of projects I have on the go…and all the great finds I’ve brought home but haven’t had the time to make over!… Even the wing back chair is a makeover waiting to happen!
My beautiful fireplace room has turned into a temporary work shop until the weather gets better for working in the garage. Yes, I still haven’t had any progress on my french sofa… so sad!
Lets step out into the garage for a moment to see what is waiting to get pretty out there as well……. I love this vintage metal dresser, I was sure it was wood until I touched it! She will be sooooo cute all prettied up!
I have a set of six of these chairs and a matching antique table with 6 legs to do….someone thought it would be classy to cover the seats with a hunter green bed sheet!!!! NOT NICE!!!
I can hardly wait to fix up this victorian styled dresser and give her new handles and a new dress! This would actually make a nice bathroom vanity with a couple of vessel sinks….don’t you think? :0)
This beautiful buffet is first on my to do list though. She is going to be a custom job for a lady who bought it from the Old Creamery Antique mall Where I have my booth. She has put her faith in me to give it some antiquing as well as she would like the drawers replaced with doors and some shelving added to the inside for her wine glasses and china.
This piece is wonderful and I just love the curvy legs on it!!! I will share this make over for sure!
So… back inside….this is calling me….
I’ve vaccumed and steam cleaned the floors, sanitized the main floor bathroom, dusted and rearranged the living room….
Not too sure it feels right, but its a change for a while. Sort of makes the room feel a bit like a tunnel, maybe too many large pieces in the space? I’m sure it won’t be like this for long… I’m a re arranger!
I picked up this cute little gravy boat with matching saucer at a thrift store last week for $2.00, I love the lines on it.
I also picked up a Hyacinth pot at home depot..sooooo pretty and fragrant. It looks nice on my white platter in a trifle bowl. I would like to actually remove it from the pot and plant it in the trifle bowl but haven’t gotten there yet…
The Canadian Cancer Society has their Dafodils (I totally misspelled that!) out now so I couldn’t resist picking up a bunch…soooo cheerful!
Believe it or not…I only took this picture an hour ago and the flower on the left is fully open now! Wow!
So I guess I better get back to working on my mess! My helper doesn’t seem too interested in helping anymore….she follows me when I vaccum and bumps into the back of my knees when I stop moving! Such hard work being a supervisor!
Hope you’re having a good week! I hope to post something fun soon!
I just wanted to share a little food for thought with you as you carry through the rest of your week. I read this a while back and I think it is so true….
Smiles!
