Forcing Spring…

2

February 10, 2015 by Terry

The other day I went out to the trees behind our home looking for some fresh branches to fill a vase I had.   Actually, it was an apothecary jar and the ornate top had been broken.  Instead of throwing the whole thing out, I decided to turn the base into a vase.

I wrapped twine around the top and bottom about an inch or so wide and called it good!

Anyhow… when I was looking for just the right branches to cut, I noticed one small bush actually had buds on some of it’s branches!  Wow!  Buds already in the beginning of February???  It’s been -25!

I cut a few to bring in the house and warm up with the hopes of tricking these branches into thinking it was time to leaf out.

… and it is working! :0)

It’s been too cold to paint lately and sadly, my garage is not heated.  So what is a girl to do while waiting for warmer weather?

That’s all I’m going to share for now…  All I have to say is, it’s really pretty!

Happy Wednesday!

Smiles!
