Vintage Kitchen Cabinets

June 3, 2015 by Terry

Good Day!  Things are so busy around here lately between soft ball / baseball tournaments for the kids, field trips for school and projects I’m working on in between it all!  Tis the busy season at our home for sure!

I just thought I’d give you a sneak peek at a custom project I’m working on today.

This piece of a vintage kitchen belongs to a very good friend of mine.  She lives in a beautiful custom built log home waaaaay far out in the country and I will be travelling out there to do this project as the piece is too large and heavy to bring to me.  I really don’t mind though as I absolutely love it out at her home.  Not to mention the company is great!

So here is a before picture of the cabinet I will be making over for her.

IMG_6600It is sitting right in the middle of a renovation right now.  The floors and other kitchen cabinets/countertops are being redone.  I will be painting this piece for her but we have decided to leave the wood parts natural.

IMG_6601I am not sure yet, but if we find the “right” hardware the existing pulls may get a change as well.  (the drawer is missing as I took it home to see if I could strip off the paint)

I am excited and nervous to get started … nervous as this friend is more like a mom and I don’t want to disappoint!  She says she completely trusts what I will do with this cabinet and values my opinion on how to style it …. that’s a lot of pressure :0)!

So for the next few days I will be out in the country enjoying every second of this project.

I will share some of her amazing antiques as well, she has sooooooo many beautiful pieces!

Smiles!

    • It has taken 4 coats of paint to cover the green so far!!! It is definitely a beast of a piece to paint! It has taken me 10 hours so far and I only have the drawer fronts and cupboard doors done as well as the hutch. It will be lovely when it is finished. Thank you for stopping by for a chat :0)
