Antique 3 Tiered Display Table For A Wedding
8June 24, 2015 by Terry
Earlier this year I was asked if I would be willing to make over a few pieces of furniture that will be props for an outdoor wedding in August.
I am honoured to have been asked to take on the next few projects that will be part of such an important day in someone’s life. They will become a piece of someone’s “Story”…
This 3 tiered (what I think may have been a plant stand at one time) display table was originally a dark finish. It’s finish was flawless. Very sturdy and pretty as it was, I was asked if I could please paint it and brighten it up so it could be used in the wedding as a dessert stand. There will be many pastries, cupcakes and dainties for the reception placed on it.
Because the wedding is outdoor country shabby, I gave it 2 coats of MMS Linen Milk Paint and distressed it slightly. The paint only chipped in a few spots which I think was just perfect for the piece. I finished it with a touch of antiquing wax and then followed with 2 more coats of clear wax. It is so smooth and looks beautiful!
So romantic …

Great job. It’s really a beautiful piece. I love the detail on the legs and edges. I think after the wedding this would be beautiful in a dressing room or corner of a bedroom to hold jewelry and accessories too.

Thank you Becky! I agree, it would be perfect for accessories and displaying them. It could be used in so many areas of a home for many things . I hope you’re having a good day!
