This Little Chair Is Going To Market!!!

November 17, 2015 by Terry

I have finally finished it and I couldn’t be more happy with the results!

After stripping it down to the bare bones, I gave the wood two coats of Fusion Mineral Paint in the color Champlain.  Then it was time to redress it in a new bright and fresh material!

Take a peek at what it used to look like…

… during

… and now

The back is covered with the reverse colors in the same print.  I think it really adds to the already unique character of the chair.

Sooooooo pretty!  It is going to be taken to The Little Deer Market on December 5.  If anyone is interested in purchasing it.   I’m sooooo tempted to keep it … but I can’t.

I also made a few pillows the other day to take to the market as well, this is one of them … love the simplicity of it with just some vintage lace.

96Well, I’m off to the garage!

  1. The chair is beautiful. But then you know I do have a chair addiction.

    • Terry says:

Terry. The chair is so gorgeous. I am in awe. Really’!! How can you part with it? You have such a gift and an eye for making beautiful things. So proud of you. 💋Janice

Terry, you did a fantastic job. It looks great, especially love the reverse color on the back.

  5. A beautiful restyle! The contrasting, yet complementary fabric elevates the look. I also like the dark blue trim used throughout. I, too, have a chair fancy – not brave enough yet to do what you’ve done! Sandra

    • Terry says:

Thank you Sandra! Chairs just feel so welcoming don’t they? The trim is actually denim… I forgot to mention it in the post! It sort of changes the feel to “casual fancy” :0) I hope you have a great day!

  6. lovely chair. reminds me of blue and white dishes with a rough luxe spin.

    • Terry says:

Thank you ! You’re absolutely right! I think this chair would look beautiful at the head of a farmhouse white table! Thank you for taking the time to comment! Have a great day!

  7. Beautiful! I love how you used the reverse fabric for the back. What a great idea!

  8. WOW, Terry!! The before and after is incredible! You won’t have that hanging around your booth for long. It’s stunning!

  9. This chair is gorgeous, Terry! I love the fabric choice, too! I must confess, sometimes I say that I don’t care for certain styles, like mix-matching fabric on wingback chairs, then all of a sudden along comes something like your chair which causes me to rethink the former opinion. You knocked it out of the park! This chair of yours is tastefully done. It’s classic and people do love blue. I think you might reconsider holding on to it. It sure looks pretty in your home, against those pretty floors and those awesome walls.

That little pillow is darling, too! I love the fabric and how charming it is.

Oh Terry I would have to keep that chair! How can you let such beauty go? You did an amazing job on it! How about a Christmas present to yourself? :-)

    • Terry says:

Oh Shelly! You are too sweet … and the tiny little devil on my shoulder that says “keep it” … but… my home is already so full of treasures… I really must resist! :0) Thank you for such high compliments though! Maybe… you “need” to have it? ha ha! Have a great day!

  13. Peggy says:

Oh my! She is gorgeous and I am smitten! That blue is very stunning. What a transformation. You have such a wonderful talent.

  14. Sharon @ Elizabeth & Co. says:

The other day I let my daughter drive us home after being away. I was absolutely exhausted from life in general. This was the view from my passenger window... a beautiful reminder to slow down and listen to God’s whispers... He’s got this. #listentothewhispers #godsgotthis #bestillandknow #thatstillsmallvoice #heismystrength

She has definitely been our “wild card” from the very beginning! So full of energy and always ready to help wherever it is needed. She is ambitious and fun and has an amazing heart! We know she will be successful in anything she does. Happy Monday friends! I know I haven’t posted anything for quite some time but as I sit here this evening I feel it’s time to share a bit more of what has been happening for the last few months. Most of you don’t know this but for the last 11 months I have been slowly learning the technical side of my family’s business. For the past 43 years my parents have invested their blood sweat and tears making our family business such a huge success. (@globefootwearltd ) I am privileged and honoured to be able to carry that on for them. 11 months ago I took a leap of faith and left everything I was comfortable with to come and carry on our family heritage. Our children were brave enough to leave their friends and their school in order to support their mom in keeping the family heritage alive. Today I am proud to say that while I still have much to learn, I am happy that we took that leap. It truly is an amazing journey and a hard (at times challenging) one at that… But with God’s grace and strength we will carry through for continued success! God is good! I’m still loving furniture makeovers and when I can, I still enjoy DIY and sharing what I make… But for now… I have to take a step back from that part of my life and focus on what is before me. I hope you will stay, and follow along in my journey. We have a new home where we are and are wanting to put our style mark on it… I know there are a few stencilling projects in our future ;-) I will share more with you soon. You can follow along on my business journey too at @globefootwearltd ❤️😊 #newlife #newfriends #newbusiness #newadventures #shoestore #familybusiness #heritage #myheritage #godisgood #strengh #godsgrace #globefootwearltd
