This Little Chair Is Going To Market!!!

November 17, 2015 by Terry

I have finally finished it and I couldn’t be more happy with the results!

After stripping it down to the bare bones, I gave the wood two coats of Fusion Mineral Paint in the color Champlain.  Then it was time to redress it in a new bright and fresh material!

Take a peek at what it used to look like…

… during

… and now

The back is covered with the reverse colors in the same print.  I think it really adds to the already unique character of the chair.

Sooooooo pretty!  It is going to be taken to The Little Deer Market on December 5.  If anyone is interested in purchasing it.   I’m sooooo tempted to keep it … but I can’t.

I also made a few pillows the other day to take to the market as well, this is one of them … love the simplicity of it with just some vintage lace.

96Well, I’m off to the garage!

Terry, you did a fantastic job. It looks great, especially love the reverse color on the back.

  5. A beautiful restyle! The contrasting, yet complementary fabric elevates the look. I also like the dark blue trim used throughout. I, too, have a chair fancy – not brave enough yet to do what you’ve done! Sandra

    • Terry says:

Thank you Sandra! Chairs just feel so welcoming don’t they? The trim is actually denim… I forgot to mention it in the post! It sort of changes the feel to “casual fancy” :0) I hope you have a great day!

  6. lovely chair. reminds me of blue and white dishes with a rough luxe spin.

    • Terry says:

Thank you ! You’re absolutely right! I think this chair would look beautiful at the head of a farmhouse white table! Thank you for taking the time to comment! Have a great day!

  7. Beautiful! I love how you used the reverse fabric for the back. What a great idea!

  8. WOW, Terry!! The before and after is incredible! You won’t have that hanging around your booth for long. It’s stunning!

  9. This chair is gorgeous, Terry! I love the fabric choice, too! I must confess, sometimes I say that I don’t care for certain styles, like mix-matching fabric on wingback chairs, then all of a sudden along comes something like your chair which causes me to rethink the former opinion. You knocked it out of the park! This chair of yours is tastefully done. It’s classic and people do love blue. I think you might reconsider holding on to it. It sure looks pretty in your home, against those pretty floors and those awesome walls.

That little pillow is darling, too! I love the fabric and how charming it is.

Oh Terry I would have to keep that chair! How can you let such beauty go? You did an amazing job on it! How about a Christmas present to yourself? :-)

    • Terry says:

Oh Shelly! You are too sweet … and the tiny little devil on my shoulder that says “keep it” … but… my home is already so full of treasures… I really must resist! :0) Thank you for such high compliments though! Maybe… you “need” to have it? ha ha! Have a great day!

  13. Peggy says:

Oh my! She is gorgeous and I am smitten! That blue is very stunning. What a transformation. You have such a wonderful talent.

Loving the perfect simplicity of our Balsam Fir tree 🌲 so fresh and fragrant. We are debating ornaments or leaving it naked... we are leaning towards leaving the as is. Maybe add a tree topper? 🤔🌲 #balsamfir #nakedtrees #fragrant #christmastree #antique #beautifulspaces #homedecor #thecuratorscollection #blanketladder #antiqueradio #cozy #farmhousestyle #fresh
So the table runner garland (which was originally supposed to be a wreath lol) has now become a large swag framing our living/dining area... it just made more sense since the table sees lots of use. Easier for cleaning. I think this works better in the end😉. #happyfriday #christmasdecor #mychristmas #cozy #freshgreens #thecuratorscollection #christmasiscoming #farmhousestyle
I started out intending to make another wreath but ended up with the makings of a table runner lol. I’ll add some more trimmings to it tomorrow. #sidetracked #freshgreens #christmastablescape #christmasdecor #diy #farmhousetable #antique #thecuratorscollection
