Last summer after giving our family room fireplace a make over, I decided that I would also give our living room a make over of sorts as well.   Turns out some projects that seem large and intimidating are actually extremely easy and simple…..

This is a picture during the whole process…. I didn’t have a blog at the time so I didn’t think to take before photos.  These are just pics I like to send to my husband while he’s away working … makes his blood pressure rise a little! :0)…

So let me just say this…Hind sight is definitely 20/20… While measuring and cutting the wood was super easy, painting AFTER putting the boards up WASN’T!!!  If I ever do this again (and I most likely will…fair warning Trent! LOL!) I would most certainly paint my wall white BEFORE hanging the boards!  Soooo time consuming if you don’t.  Next time I would also caulk with white caulking after painting, not before to give it that seamless look.

Such an easy, cheap project to update any room and give it a little character!  I like how it added interest and a little wow to our living room without doing a major renovation.  This only took me one afternoon to do….soooo easy!

The only thing I didn’t think of before doing this is that now I really have to limit what I hang on the walls so as not to make it too busy in the room with too much going on.  I opted for just a simple round mirror over the couch.
