Level Five | Home Tour
4October 23, 2014 by Terry
Today we visit level 5 of our five level split home. This level is the lowest level of our home. While it is considered the basement, it is still a very bright area with high ceilings so once again, it doesn’t feel like it is that of a dark dreary basement. The entire 5th level is the bedroom area for our oldest daughter who is 15. It was originally intended to be another family room as it has a wood burning fireplace but we needed another bedroom and since she is the oldest it is nice she can have a large space to herself. She also gets her own bathroom and dressing area. The downside is that the furnace room is also down there.
We enter from the fourth level family room and go down a few steps. On the right is a storage room / cold room. We also meet up with the treadmill that no one uses :0)! My eldest daughter does use it once in a while so I shouldn’t say it doesn’t get used at all…
(Sorry for the dark pictures)
Once at the bottom of the stairs, straight ahead is the large bathroom. There is a vanity with sink and toilet only. There are hookups ready for a shower and tub but we decided not to put one in yet … mostly because we just don’t have the time lately to do another large renovation. She also has a nice little area for dressing, putting on her makeup and doing her hair in the bathroom…
I hung a lamp upside down so she could have a little more light for doing her hair and makeup, I just fed the cord through the drop ceiling and down the wall to the outlet. It works for now until I can find an old chandelier to makeover. Behind the screens are the two furnaces that heat the house as well as the hot water tank and sump pump.
Stepping out side the bathroom directly in front is a large very deep closet with a large amount of storage. I won’t show you the inside as… well…. she’s a 15 year old girl and isn’t the neatest when it comes to her clothes closet! :0)
Directly to the right is her bedroom area..
The other end of the room looks like this… It has the fireplace and enough room to actually have a little love seat and t.v. area. We don’t have it set up as such right now as we are trying to keep the room minimal and spacious for potential buyers viewing our home.
And what is this I find as I go back upstairs? … Some one looking a little guilty as they sneak a nap on the sofa! …
So that is the end of my home tour, I’m happy to be able to share with you a bit of our imperfectly perfect life :0)!
If you missed the first four levels you can find them here:
Level one Level two Level three Level four
I’ve been working on my (click on it to see) smelly dresser and hope to share that makeover with you soon.

Hi Terry! I LOVE your house and its multitude of levels! Thank you for sharing with us. Best of luck in selling this home so you can move onto the next – which also looks amazing, and I am totally envious of that workshop! Have a great weekend.
