Antiqued Linen …

7

November 9, 2014 by Terry

This past two weeks have been a blurr!  I have been multitasking my multitasking!!! … okay, so that’s just how I feel … you know how sometimes things feel bigger than they are…  :0)

One of my projects last week was working on finishing this lovely little antique china cabinet.  I got so excited about getting started on it that I totally forgot the before pictures.  I didn’t even bring it in the house for a photo shoot … straight to my booth she went (hence the bad pics!).

Here she is all dolled up in Linen Milk Paint and finished in dark antiquing wax.  She has just a slight distressing as I didn’t want to take away from all her lovely detail.

Isn’t she fancy with the scroll work on the glass door and the turned legs? Oh, and the nice little scalloped skirt!

IMG_6005IMG_6006I thought about filling in the detail on top with another color but I think that may have made her look a little busy with the scroll work and distressing, sometimes less is more…

IMG_6004Inside she has two shelves that I decided to leave original to give it some contrast. It picks up the color of the distressed parts as well and brings out the color of the antiquing wax.

IMG_6002She is so smooth to touch!  These pictures do not even do her justice, she’s much prettier in person.  I like that this cabinet is low profile and is of a smaller scale which makes her perfect for smaller spaces … she could go any where!  I could even see her in a bathroom holding extra towels and pretty smelling soaps!

I rarely use things the way they were meant to be used lol!  Just because it was made for china doesn’t mean it HAS to be used for china :0)

If you’d like to see her in person, she is in my booth at the Old Creamery!

Smiles!

  2. I lost you! I don’t know what happened but it dawned on me today that I hadn’t seen any posts from you lately. When I checked my “blogs I follow” column, you were no where to be seen! Horrors! I’m hoping you didn’t even notice 😀 so now I play catch up with your posts…
