I have always intended to plant some Paper Whites to have for our center piece on our Christmas table.  Have I ever gotten there? No.  I always remember when it’s too late to plant them in time for it to be blooming for Christmas dinner or…the store is sold out of bulbs.

Well I am excited to say that this year I FINALLY remembered!  I almost didn’t make it though, I got the very last box of bulbs left on the shelf.  To be honest I think the only reason it was left was because someone had opened it to look in it an damaged the box.  I probably would have left it as well for that very reason if I wasn’t desperate to finally have some Paper Whites on my Christmas dinner table!

There’s just something so pure and elegant about them and you can plant them in almost any container.  Perfect accents for any room or table.  So delicate and cheery!

Here are a few photos of the ones I planted.

I planted them in a trifle bowl at the end of November.  I think that may have been a bit late but there are a few bulging flower buds just waiting to open.  Hopefully this happens by Christmas day!  I took these pics a few days ago, there are actually more buds now.

I know they look a little plain now, but I plan to dress them up a bit before they go on the dinner table :)

 Too bad that beautiful room didn’t come with the bulbs … oh, and that chandelier just dripping with crystals!
