Antique Calf Feeder

I love unique and unusual items and I had never seen one of these before!

My friend had been on a trip this summer and did a little “picking” on the way.  She is an antique dealer and always finds the most interesting pieces.

I had been out at her farm one afternoon and just as I was leaving she says ” I have something I want to show you, I think you might like it.”

Like it????  I LOVED IT!!!!!

What was it?  Oh, I didn’t even really care what it was.  It was unusual, glass and had chipping paint!  I absolutely had to have it how much did she want for it? … SOLD!

I could hardly wait to get it home. It is such a cool piece to have just as a decoration somewhere on the wall.  It is visually appealing and makes for a neat conversation piece, especially since most people who have seen it do not know what it is.

… And what is it?  It’s a calf feeder!  I love how it looks hanging on the wall beside the window in our living room filled with old baseballs.  The industrial pendant light and large tin wall hanging complement the look.

(sorry for the poor photos, I had difficulty with my camera)

I love finding pieces that not only have a little history but are not seen very often nowadays!

I hope your week is going well!

Just a reminder that my Making Broken Beautiful Linky Party begins this evening at 6:00pm (MST) and you have until 6:00pm on Saturday to submit your wonderful pieces!  I hope you will join me in the fun!

What are some of your unusual finds?  Share them tonight at the party!

Smiles!

Terry
